Community Conversation: A Zero-Waste Future for Minneapolis
Thursday, April 10, 2025 | 6:30 - 8:00 PM
Location: Edison High School
Minneapolis generates 85,000 tons of garbage per year, much of which is burned at the Hennepin County Energy Recovery Center (HERC)—one of the county’s largest polluters. While the county plans to close HERC between 2028 and 2040, environmental advocates are pushing for an earlier closure and stronger zero-waste solutions.
Join us for a community discussion on how we can reduce waste and move toward a healthier, sustainable future. Hear from environmental advocates, solid waste experts, and elected officials on how we can take action.
Presented by:
Zero Burn Coalition, Audubon NA, Bottineau NA, Columbia Park NA, Holland NA, Logan Park NA, and Lower Northeast NA.
